To Whom it May Concern,

 Claire and I have been fortunate to work with John over the past few years.  We had been watching the area and realized that John really had a handle on the market, and seemed to have a number of sales in our neighborhood.  We wanted to go with a leader and sought him out.  Initially, we asked for a market analysis from John in 2007, when we were considering selling our beach house.  John was very helpful in laying out his strategy for getting the house sold.  We decided at the time to enjoy the beach house a little longer; though I am sure John was disappointed at the time in not getting the listing, he was very professional.

In 2010, we decided it was time to sell the house, and of course contacted John knowing how professional he had been in our last interaction.  Even though the housing market was horrible due to the economy and was losing value by the month, John was able to put a marketing strategy together to help sell the house.

Selling our beach home was not easy in this market, but we achieved the result we desired.  We had a total of 3 offers.  The 1st was too low and we rejected.  The 2nd offer we accepted at our desired price, but due to a job loss the buyers backed out at the last minute.  The 3rd offer we accepted and closed in December, 2010.

During the sale process, John did a number of additional services for us.  He worked with us on finding several contractors for the house, suggesting ways to make the house show well, and tracking down what to do with an old septic system.

Even though this was a complicated sale, John was always very communicative.  He even kept us up to date during his vacation.  I always felt informed along the way.  This often meant John was sending us paperwork several times during the day, or tracking us down later in  the evening when necessary.  Between email. phone, and in-person interactions, John was excellent on keeping us informed.

Overall, John worked very hard for his commission.  The fact we had 3 offers in the worst economy in decades is proof that his marketing and local knowledge was a key factor.  He also sold the house during the slowest time of the year at the beach.  John was easy to work with, and I would recommend others in listing their homes with him.
